The Screensaver
“She must love me, he thought.”
Listen Above, Or Start Reading BelowThere was a sheet metal department at the roofing company, one man running it — Jerry.
The roofers sent him measurements and he had the corners bent, the drain flashing ready, before anyone had to ask twice.

Jerry kept his house as his screensaver.
A lake house, private water, three or four other places with access to the same shoreline.
The kind of picture a man doesn't have to explain.
How he got the house — and what he pays to sit in his own garage.
